Five-Day Journey to Southern Morocco

Embark on a captivating 5-day journey through the heart of Morocco, delving deep into its diverse landscapes, rich cultural heritage, and historical treasures. Starting in the bustling city of Marrakech, you'll traverse the majestic High Atlas Mountains, explore ancient kasbahs and Berber villages, and venture into the vast Sahara Desert. 

Day 1: Marrakech to Skoura

Start your day in Marrakech and head south to the Tichka Pass in the High Atlas Mountains. Pass through green valleys and arid slopes before reaching Ouarzazate, known for its Atlas film studios. Explore the studios and enjoy lunch at a local restaurant. Visit the impressive kasbah of Taourirt, then continue to Skoura, an oasis at the base of the Atlas Mountains. Have dinner and stay in a riad.

Day 2: Skoura to Nkob

Continue your journey along the Thousand Kasbah Route. Pass through Kalaa Mgouna, famous for its rose festival, and explore a local rose product unit. Drive to Boumalen Dades, nestled in a beautiful valley. Cross the Tazazert Pass and have a picnic lunch at Bab N Ali. Drive through deserted landscapes to Nkob, an enchanting desert oasis. Enjoy dinner and stay in a kasbah hotel.

Day 3: Nkob to Cheggaga

Drive to the Draa Valley, passing through the palm grove in Tansikht. Visit the ancient library in Tamegroute Zaouia, then head to Ouled Driss Ksar for lunch with a local family and explore the Nomad Museum. Reach the Cheggaga dunes, enjoy a camel ride, watch the sunset from a tall dune, and have dinner at the camp.

Day 4: Cheggaga to Ait Ben Haddou

Drive through Irriki Dry Lake and the Anti-Atlas Mountains to reach the Foum Zguid oasis. Explore Taznakht, known for its weaving. Visit a weaving cooperative, have lunch, and continue to Ait Ben Haddou. Explore the Ksar Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site famous for its film appearances. Have dinner and stay in a hotel.

Day 5: Ait Ben Haddou to Marrakech

Visit the Ksar Ait Ben Haddou in the morning, then drive through the Aounil Valley and explore Telouat. Cross the Tichka Pass and return to Marrakech.
